Prabath Nissanka

Accredited LEVEL III High performance cricket coach and Fitness Trainer.

Sri Lanka National cricket team opening fast bowler, who strives to share his expertise and knowledge with young and upcoming cricketers. Prabath served as the Assistant National Bowling Coach for the Sri Lankan Cricket team. After arriving in Melbourne, Prabath became the Head Coach of Casey-South Melbourne Cricket Club. He completed his fitness training accreditation and now is the head coach of Melbourne Cricket Coaching

Prabath Nissanka played Test and ODI cricket for Sri Lanka. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He is one of the quickest bowlers produced by Sri Lanka. Prabath had an impressive debut in Sharjah in October 2001, picking up two wickets in the process. He is a member of the MRF Foundation for pace bowlers.

Prabath played a pivotal role as a vital team player of Sri Lanka’s ICC Cricket World Cup squad in 2003 and his 4/12 helped Sri Lanka to restrict Canada to 36 runs, which is a World Cup record. In his last test match, he took 5/64 against West Indies in Kingston.

Pasindu Liyanaarachchi

Pasindu Liyanaarachchi is a seasoned cricket coach with extensive experience in both national and club-level coaching, specializing in player development and high-performance training. He holds prestigious certifications such as ICC Level 3 from ICCA Dubai, SLC Level 2, and has undergone additional training in sports psychology and high-performance workshops, further enhancing his ability to guide players at the highest level. He applies his deep knowledge and strategic insights to elevate the team’s performance on the international stage. His coaching career includes leading top Sri Lankan cricket teams like Lankan Cricket Club in the SLC Premier League, as well as working with schools like Isipathana College and Thushan College, where he played a pivotal role in shaping young cricketers.

In addition to his coaching credentials, Pasindu is also a former cricketer with a distinguished playing career. He was a member of Sri Lanka’s Youth Spinner’s Squad and represented elite clubs like Tamil Union C&A Club and BRC in SLC Premier Tournaments. His experience as a player, combined with his coaching acumen, allows him to understand the game from multiple perspectives, making him an effective and well-rounded mentor. With a passion for cricket that has driven his career for over two decades, Pasindu is dedicated to helping players reach their full potential and succeed both on and off the field. Whether coaching a national team or mentoring young talent, Pasindu’s commitment to the sport is evident in everything he does.

Namal Senevirathna

Namal Senavirathne is a dedicated and experienced cricket coach with over two decades of expertise in developing players and fostering team success. With a Level 2 accreditation from Sri Lanka Cricket and experience coaching across multiple countries, including Sri Lanka, the UK, and Australia, Namal has worked with players of all levels, from juniors to national teams. His coaching career includes key roles such as Head Coach of the Sri Lanka Navy SC Women’s Premier Cricket Team and coaching positions with the Mercantile Cricket Association and various schools. Namal’s extensive playing career includes representing Sri Lanka’s Under-19 team and top cricket clubs in both Sri Lanka and England. He is known for his deep technical knowledge of the game, leadership, and ability to inspire players to achieve their full potential.

Namal applies his vast experience to train and mentor young cricketers in Australia. His international coaching career has allowed him to adapt to different coaching environments, making him highly effective at player development and team management. Passionate about the game, Namal continues to inspire cricketers to excel on the field and develop both their technical skills and sportsmanship.

Channa Gunawardana

Channa Gunawardana is a highly accomplished cricketer and coach with over 27 years of experience playing competitive cricket in Australia. A right-handed opening batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler, Channa has proven himself to be a versatile player, consistently achieving high-level results. Throughout his distinguished playing career, he has participated in 586 career matches, amassing an impressive 11,746 runs with a personal best score of 131, and securing 893 wickets, with his best bowling figures being an outstanding 8 for 34.

In addition to his on-field prowess, Channa has played for and represented several prestigious teams and clubs, including Hawthorn C.C., United Stars S.C., Buckley Ridges C.C., and Melbourne Blues C.C. His leadership and impact have been evident, earning him multiple club championships with United Stars S.C. and Hawthorn C.C., as well as the title of Victorian Sunday Cricket Association Player of the Year for the 2018/19 season.

Channa’s dedication to cricket extends beyond playing, as he has developed a strong reputation as a coach over the past 10 years. He holds coaching qualifications from Sri Lanka and Australia, including a Level 1 Coaching certificate from Sri Lanka (2001) and Level 2 Coaching certification from Australia (2021). As the head coach of Hawthorn C.C. since 2018 and former head coach of United Stars S.C., he has led numerous teams to success and continues to nurture upcoming talent. In addition to his coaching roles in Australia, Channa also serves as a High-Performance Bowling Coach at the Shine Lions Cricket Academy in Sri Lanka, where he has been involved since 2020.

With his extensive playing experience, exceptional coaching skills, and a passion for the game, Channa remains a dedicated figure in the cricketing world, continuing to inspire and mentor players at all levels.

Charith Keerthisinghe

Charith Keerthisinghe is a highly skilled cricket coach and former first-class cricketer with extensive experience in both playing and coaching. With over 10 years of involvement in local and representative cricket, Charith has made significant contributions to the sport, particularly in the South Gippsland region of Australia. A former player at the highest levels of cricket in Sri Lanka, Charith was part of the prestigious Sri Lanka National Spin Bowling Academy, where he honed his expertise in spin bowling, which has since become a key focus of his coaching career.

As a Level 2 Representative Coach in Australia, Charith has dedicated himself to nurturing and developing young cricketing talent. His experience includes working as a junior representative cricket coach in South Gippsland, where his passion for the game and commitment to youth development has seen him lead numerous teams to success. From 2021 to 2023, Charith served as a Cricket Victoria Volunteer Contracted Junior Cricket Developer for the Leongatha District Cricket Association, further expanding his influence and impact on the local cricketing community.

In addition to his coaching credentials, Charith’s own experience as a first-class cricketer in Sri Lanka provides him with a unique perspective that he brings to his coaching methodology. His deep understanding of the game, combined with a professional coaching background, allows him to effectively mentor young players and guide them toward their full potential.
