About Us
Melbourne Cricket Coaching is a reputed cricket coaching academy that is part of Melbourne Sports based in Melbourne, Victoria, and provides a wide range of cricket coaching programs for all levels. MCC team specialises in assisting male and female cricketers from beginners to adults.
Co-Founder and Head Coach- Prabath Nissanka represented Sri Lanka in Test and ODI cricket. He is an Accredited Level 3 high-performance coach and a personal trainer who has provided outstanding coaching for cricketers of all ages for over 15 years and coaching MCC players to an outstanding level. MCC is currently seeking a suitably qualified and motivated candidate for the following position:
About the Role
– This is a casual position to train young players of Melbourne Cricket Coaching
– The successful applicant will be contracted as an Assistant/ Coach and will be responsible for training MCC players
– Level 1 cricket coaching qualification essential, Level 2 desirable
– The Assistant/ coach will be expected to plan, develop, and implement a high-quality, training program to enhance the skills of the players with the guidance of the Head Coach
– A particular focus for the coach will be to oversee regular testing of the players’ strength, endurance, and fitness.
– The successful applicant will report to the Head Coach of MCC.
– Salary will be negotiated according to qualifications and experience.
Important Criteria:
– Previous coaching experience in a school/academy/club environment is essential
– At least 6 months’ consecutive experience working with young players
– Focus on the development of batting, bowling, and fielding skills of MCC Players
– A passion for working with children and/or young people
– Level 1 cricket coaching qualification essential, Level 2 desirable
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to build rapport and interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
– Outstanding collaborative skills, with the demonstrated ability to contribute significantly and productively in working effectively as part of a team.
– Design training programs to target the development of individuals in consultation with the Head Coach.
– Appropriate experience delivering cricket programs or coaching cricket
– A willingness to liaise with parents, delivering high-quality customer service
– A real team player who’s happy to rotate duties and form positive relationships with MCC staff and Players
– At times things change, so you’ll need to be flexible, with a willingness to adapt
– Leadership skills with a vibrant and confident personality
– Provide technical coaching and support where required to all players and coaching staff
